In the upcoming winter of 2024, Dembis is embarking on a profound exploration to his Ancestral roots, seeking wisdom from the elders of his Griot-Serer and Laube-Foulani families and friends. The best part? He's extending a warm invitation for you to join him and his family on this special and emotive trip into the vibrant millenary Senegalese culture.

Currently, Dembis is meticulously preparing the details of this unforgettable trip, with a primary focus on diving deep into the spiritual culture of Senegal through history and the transformative arts of traditional drumming, dancing, chant and food. 

SARGAL WA BENE TALLY is a tribute by Dembis Thioung to the vibrant people of the Bene Tally neighborhood in Dakar, where he was born and raised. In their honour, in October 2019, Dembis formed the self-funded BENE TALLY Band & friends in London, a collective of artists bringing the spirit & the magical rhythms of West Africa. The band blends his Griot and Baye Fall heritage with African traditions to create unique, collaborative performances that invite audience participation, foster community connection, and offer the healing benefits of ancestral wisdom through music, dance and chant.  He is excited to bring the energies of this project and PENCHMI to Bene Tally for the first time ever.
